Mini Olive Tree
Olea europaea
$14.99
Height: 8-8.5"
Zone: 8
Flower: The small, fragrant, cream-colored olive flowers are largely hidden by the evergreen leaves and grow on a long stem arising from the leaf axils. The olive produces two kinds of flowers: a perfect flower containing both male and female parts, and a staminate flower with stamens only. The flowers are largely wind pollinated with most olive varieties being self-pollinating, although fruit set is usually improved by cross pollination with other varieties. There are self-incompatible varieties that do not set fruit without other varieties nearby, and there are varieties that are incompatible with certain others. Incompatibility can also occur for environmental reasons such as high temperatures.
Foliage: feather-shaped , grey-green
Light: sun
Description:

Olive trees have been used by humans for thousands of years, but not typically as a houseplant as you see here - they give that instant Mediterranean feel and are very durable. Olives are great to use in the miniature garden because they have a growth habit that looks already complete while the tree is still small. Fairies love olives but... they may have to wait a bit for fruits! Likes bright light, full sun, reflective light. Olives do best if you water thoroughly once in a while and then allow to dry out between waterings.

Note:

Miniatures are small items that pose potential choking hazards to small children. They are not toys. Any accessories pictured are not included and are for illustrative purposes only.
