Arbors are stand alone, somewhat shady shelters, which allow the breezes of the wind to flow through. Some of these structures are extensions of the miniature houses where wicker chairs, Adirondack benches, and bistro tables enable the garden fairies to relax and enjoy the miniature gardens. Arbor roofs are not solid unlike a gazebo that has a finished surface. The more common type of arbors is much smaller in depth. This sort of arbor accentuates a garden entrance and announces the pathway leading to a miniature house. The side of an entryway arbor resembles a trellis and it is common to see vines and flowers climbing the structure. Trellises are also used separately in the miniature garden or fairy garden planter. Climbing flowers are generally planted at the base of the trellis. Garden features are crafted from a variety of materials from metal to resin to withstand the outdoor spring through fall weather.
