This plant prefers moist to well-drained soil. While it can tolerate some dryness, you will want to water it frequently.
This tiny plant responds well to deadheading once its blooms have faded. A final round of blooms can be maintained on the plant for self-seeding. Centaurium scilloides enjoys a fairly fertile soil. It likes sunshine. In fact, its flowers open wide only in sun. This is a fairly short-lived plant but one that will self-seed freely. It is not recommended for most indoor gardens.
