Have you ever heard of the Sweetheart Plant? Other nicknames include Hoya Heart, Wax Heart, or Lucky Heart. Hoya kerrii is truly one-of-a-kind. It is a slow-growing, semi-succulent plant that grows in a heart shape, making it a popular Valentine’s Day gift. The plant's vines can grow very long, (and very slowly) on vining stems, but they are most often sold as an individual rooted leaf. The heart-shaped leaves are thick, waxy, and bright green.
Hoya kerrii is non-toxic to pets and very easy to care for. Older, more mature plants will blossom with flowers during the summer months. The flowers are small and star-shaped, and they carry a delicate scent.
Note: It takes years for it to develop into a larger vine when grown from a leaf like this!
