There might be no more versatile and pleasant herb than lavender. Lavandula angustifolia, Goodwin Creek, Herb Lavender is one of our favorite varieties. It features silver-grey colors among the foliage and grows upwards in finely-toothed flower stems topped with bright, dark purple spikes of flowers. Lavender is easy to care for, heat-tolerant, and manages occasional drought quite well. It loves the sun, so pinpoint an area in your garden, such as a border, container, or raised bed, that receives lots of light. If you live in a cold area, you can bring lavender indoors until the warmer months. Expect your lavender to reach 2-feet or even 4-feet in height (flowering)! Of course, its classic fragrance never disappoints. You can look forward to dried lavender for all of your DIY projects, as well as gorgeous cut flowers for the summer table.
