This good-fortune tree likes bright indirect light. Direct sun may scorch its leaves, so if you relocate it in its pot to an outdoor location in summer, be sure to place it under a higher canopy to filter the bright light. Loving warmth and humidity, this tree may lose leaves if it is left to contend with drafts through windows and vents. It needs little water, so ensure its top two inches of soil are completely dry before you water it at its base. Once its "trunk" is braided, you can leave it alone, simply removing stray shoots to keep it looking its best. Just prune here and there to maintain a manageable size, as this tree can grow quite large.
