Full of texture and color, Peperomia caperata Schumi Red is an eye-catching houseplant that stands out from the rest. Its small, heart-shaped leaves are a deep, iridescent purple-red color. Some are almost black! Each leaf sports deep ripples or ridges. Native to Colombia, this peperomia appreciates bright, indirect light and high humidity. For best results, allow about 2-inches of the topsoil to dry out slightly between watering. Does not need regular repotting.
If the plant is underwatered, you will notice browning edges and leaves dropping. If it gets too much water or sunlight, blistered or rotting leaves will result.
Note: Non-toxic and pet-friendly!
