This plant looks very similar to the true Baby Tears but is not related even closely. Pilea depressa 'Baby Tears' is a native of Mexico and Brazil, and although it looks like a Baby Tears the leaves of Pilea depressa are a little larger, rounder and fleshier.
Pilea depressa 'Baby Tears' is a wonderful plant for a terrarium or fairy garden. It can hold up in the humid environment of a terrarium and also does well exposed to normal house humidity. It looks great in a hanging basket outdoors in part shade or sun as long as the temperatures remain above 70°. Pilea depressa 'Baby Tears' is easy to prune to keep under control. Grow in moist soil.
