Native to the rainforests of South America, this plant features glossy, fleshy, heart-shaped leaves. Senecio mikanioides is a fast-growing cousin of String of Pearls. For best results, plant it in a hanging basket, where it can show off its ornate, patterned leaves in various shades of green. Leaf bottoms are an attractive deep purple.
This rare find is easy-to-care for. Hang it in a shady or bright area. Most lighting will be just fine. When it comes to watering, wait until the soil is dried out, and be careful not to over-water. Avoid open windows and cold drafts. If the plant becomes too leggy, prune the vines, and repot every year or two to encourage growth.
