Air plants prefer bright, filtered light. Consider placing your air plant in a room with a south or east-facing window where the temperature is at least 50 degrees F, but not over 90 degrees F. Just as their name describes, air plants need plenty of clean air circulation in order to live a healthy life.
Watering: There are several different methods for watering air plants. Misting and soaking are two of the best ways to keep the plants moist. Plan to soak your air plant in room temperature tap water every 1 to 2 weeks. Simply place the plant face-down in a bowl or small container and let sit for 10 to 20 minutes. Shake any excess water off of the plant. After soaking, the plant should be placed in a bright spot to air dry, which can take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours.
Once a week, give your air plant a thorough misting. If you live in a drier climate, or if the air is hotter or drier than usual, you may need to mist and soak your plant more often. Brown or crispy leaf tips indicate an underwatered air plant. Conversely, if your air plants are in a humid environment, they will probably need to be soaked and misted less often.
You can use this plant as a terrarium planting, provided it is in an open terrarium.
