Layout and Design
The inspiration for this planter is obvious - flowers! from the fairy flower bench to the fairy cottage with flowers on the roof to the daisy fences and glow flower lanterns lining the path. To get a feeling for the garden start out by placing your tree, cottage, and fence in the background. If your suitcase trunk or other container is a different size this may change the layout.
Planting
After your container has been filled with a good loose potting soil you can plant the tree. We added a large piece of ground cover. But if you don't have that, you can add more than one plant or use one Leptinella and break it into smaller pieces to fill a larger area. It will fill in pretty fast.
Adding Accessories
Now the fun and creative part start. Add the fence in the background corners. The daisy fence can be slightly bent and shaped to make rounded corners fences.
How to Take Care of Your Fairy Garden
Place the container in a sunny spot. It requires at least 6 hours of sun and needs regular watering to thrive,
Afterthoughts
This is such a fun planter to make. The black 'sky' in the open lid could be a great backdrop for some LED light, just like a starry night sky.
