Taste of Summer in the Fairy Garden

Taste of SummerSummertime in the fairy garden not only means swimming in the pond, relaxing in the sunshine, and finding shade under bright flowers; it also means packing a picnic basket and enjoying some special summer foods. Finally, after a long winter, the residents of your miniature garden can venture out of their fairy houses to enjoy the fun and appreciate picnics under the clear, blue sky. Summer is such an exceptional time. So, what is on your fairy garden menu this season?

Cold Drinks

After swimming, flying, running, and playing all day, every fairy needs a refreshing drink that will help them cool down. The Tub of Soda Pop Bottles on Ice is filled with enough icy bottles to keep the whole fairy garden refreshed! Set the tub next to the beach volleyball net or on a picnic table, so they are accessible for all to enjoy. If your fairies are health-conscious, they may prefer a set of two Water Bottles. You do not want the fairies in your miniature garden to become dehydrated. Cans, bottles, and cups of delicious drinks will help the garden look like a comfortable, relaxed place to spend time this summer.

Fresh Veggies

An easy miniature accessory to add to your fairy garden during the warmer months is a vegetable garden. During the spring and summer seasons, begin to “plant” and build your garden. When fall arrives, and it becomes harvest time, you can add all sorts of pumpkins, corn, and other veggies to show what was “grown” over time. Include a miniature plant called, Pilea glauca, which is a  growing groundcover that works well as the vines of resin gourds. Not all plants will need to wait until autumn to grow. Peter Rabbit's Heirloom Vegetable garden will have lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, and radishes during the hottest months in the fairy garden. To extend your gardening season consider the realistic-looking Harvest Vegetables of carrots, onions, turnips, and radishes, made from child-friendly plastic. Mini Garden Vegetables is another set that offers a variety of yummy treats. Place a few harvest vegetables in the garden patch or pile them on a picnic table to make sure the bounty is shared among all the garden fairies.

Grill Out

Garden GrillsWhile fairy houses are often equipped with kitchens, a favorite activity in the fairy garden is throwing some food on the grill and having an old-fashioned cookout. There are many options to choose from, including a set of Garden Grills, which comes with two colorful barbecues in their own unique shapes. Add some summer veggies to the grill for a healthy and delicious summer meal in the miniature garden.

Summertime Treats

What is summer without some delicious, seasonal treats? Fairies will get a kick out of Watermelon and Slices. When planning a miniature garden consider the garden fairies are enjoying a picnic while lounging in an Adirondack chair, or while lying on a beach blanket. For a melty dessert, stock up on some Ice Cream for the wee folk in your fairy garden. This set of six cones has a vintage vendor appearance, perfect for a ball game or fun fair. Last but not least, Roasted Marshmallows are a summer favorite when enjoyed around the campfire.

See how easy it can be to transition your miniature garden from winter to summer? “Fresh” and “fun” are two words to keep in mind when planning a cool menu for the warmest months of the year. Ice cream, fruits and veggies, grilled delights, and refreshing drinks will make every day feel like a vacation in the fairy garden. Yum!
