Wheelin’ Good Times in the Miniature Garden

"Beep, Beep!” That is the sound of new and exciting miniature accessories wheeling through the fairy garden. For many, the garden is a place of rest, relaxation, peace, and calm. However, sometimes, making the miniature garden a little more bustling and active can offer a much-needed change of pace! Have you ever thought about adding cars, trucks, bikes, skateboards, and other “things that go" to your fairy garden? If so, now is the time! A vacation theme, summertime design, or another take in your backyard can be the perfect backdrop for miniature accessories with two, four, or even more wheels. Here are some of our favorites:

CARS

Go for a retro-cool look in your miniature garden with a 53 Chevy Bel Air. Consider a two-door model with a baby blue finish, and you will begin reminiscing about poodle skirts, rock ‘n roll, and the postwar baby boom. Park classic cars outside of a fairy house, nestle them next to a special garden spot, or line the cars up - along a pathway - for the start of a parade. To keep the fifties style going, you might consider a Chevy Pick-Up in your fairy garden. There are many options for using a classic die-cast metal automobile in a fairy garden. A truck looks great when its bed is packed with harvest veggies or simply parked at a car show in the miniature garden.

Are the 1960’s more your speed? If so, a VW Beetle might be your pick. Miniature Beetles come in an array of color choices, and some include flower details. All of the vintage themed cars will flash you right back to a time of peace, love, and music. These fun and funky die-cast miniature accessories will make a prominent focal point in the fairy garden.

CAMPERS AND BUSES

Is there any activity that screams “summer” more than camping? We do not think so! A camping scene may be just what your miniature garden needs this season. If camping in the woods or near the fairy garden pond sounds like your definition of an ideal weekend, take note of the Grumpy Old Bear Camper. This whimsical miniature accessory has a striped awning covering a honeypot, bright green rain boots, and a fishing pole—all the essentials one might need for a long weekend of camping amidst the fir trees. The sign outside the camper states, “A Grumpy Old Bear Lives Here with His Honey!”  Uh-oh, you should be sure to warn visitors about this one…

Some people prefer the ocean to the lake. For them, we recommend the Beach Bus! Friends in the miniature garden will be ready to cruise along the sandy streets and dusty shores in this small-scaled vehicle. Surfboards and inner tubes are already packed on top of the bus. What more could you want? Just add water, miniature plants, sand, and maybe a burger shack. That is the recipe for beachy, summery fun!

BIKES AND MORE

Of course, not every garden is made for cars and trucks. If you prefer two-wheeled vehicles, a Bike and Rack may be more your speed. Some say there is no better way to travel around a miniature garden than by bicycle. Painted in a distressed look, this vintage combo will add charm to your garden. The bike has an adorable, tiny basket attached to its front. After a day of cycling around the fairyhood, the fairies can park their bicycles in the rack. One of the fairies selected a bright red bike, while another fairy thought the vibrant green color suited her personal preference better and it matched the colors in the garden.

For extra wheelin’ fun, look no further than the Red Farm Tractor that can be put to use in the miniature vegetable garden, or the Gypsy Wagon that suits a traveling band of entertainers. No matter where your travels take you this summer, you can rest assured that your miniature garden is well prepared for driving, cruising, riding, and z-z-zooming along!
